AI Agents for Product Managers: Automate the Busywork Around the Roadmap

OIDO Team·July 13, 2026

The PM job that isn't on the job description

Product managers are hired to make decisions — what to build, for whom, in what order. But the week fills up with the work around that: reading through feedback, summarising research calls, writing release notes, pulling a status update for three different audiences, and chasing people for the input you need to decide anything at all.

None of it is the job. All of it is required. This is exactly the shape of work AI agents are good at — repetitive, context-heavy, and important enough that skipping it has a cost.

Where agents actually help a PM

Not "AI that does product strategy." That's still you. The leverage is in the surrounding machinery:

Feedback triage. Support tickets, sales notes, community threads, survey responses — an agent reads the inbound stream, clusters it by theme, and hands you the patterns instead of the raw pile. You still decide what matters; you stop doing the sorting.

Research summaries. Point an agent at a set of call transcripts or interview notes and get back the recurring themes, the direct quotes that back them, and the outliers worth a second look — each traced to its source so you can check it.

Stakeholder updates. The same underlying status, rewritten for three audiences: a one-liner for the exec channel, a detailed note for engineering, a customer-facing changelog. Drafted by the agent, approved by you.

Release notes and changelogs. From merged work to a human-readable note in your voice — a draft you edit, not a blank page you start from.

The recurring report. Whatever you assemble every week from Jira, analytics and a spreadsheet — the agent pulls it together on schedule so you review numbers instead of collecting them.

The part that matters: it drafts, you decide

Everything above ends with a human. The agent triages, summarises and drafts; the PM approves, edits and decides. That's not a limitation — it's the point. You keep judgement and ownership; you hand off the collection and the formatting.

How this works in Oido

In Oido you build an agent (or a small team of them) and connect it to the tools your product work already lives in — via MCP and custom connectors we build when a tool has no native one. An agent can read your ticketing system, your docs and your analytics, run on a schedule or on a trigger, and reach you on Slack or wherever you work. You keep control of what it can touch, and you own the hosting.

If you'd rather not build it yourself, that's the partnership tier: we design, build and run the agents with your team, and stay on to tune them as your process changes.

The goal isn't to replace the PM. It's to give the PM back the hours that were never really the job.
